Business/Pleasure kicked off in the early 2010s as a DIY hustle by Joseph Rocco Plescia in Staten Island, New York. It started with makeshift gear and late-night basement sessions, cranking out short films, music videos, and docs—anything to scratch that creative itch.

Soon enough, Joe leveled up, producing videos for Viacom’s heavy hitters like MTV, Comedy Central, CMT, and BET. But the DIY spirit never left. While self-financing his own films, he racked up screenings around the globe, including a stop at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
